Submissions
Submit your writing to Beaumont House Press! We publish poetry anthologies and a small selection of fiction and narrative nonfiction books. We invite those with chapbooks, novellas, or other hybrid works to query our press. We have a mandate to prioritize Canadian authors, but we accept submissions from anywhere in the world.
To submit, paste your cover letter in the form field below and then beneath it either five poems or the first chapter of your book. If we are interested, we will reach out via email within four weeks to ask for the complete manuscript.
Submitted poems can be excerpted from any part of the collection that you are submitting to Beaumont House Press. In other words, they do not have to be the first five poems of your collection, but rather, they must represent your body of work as a whole. The collected poems altogether must be previously unpublished, but it is acceptable for them to have appeared individually in literary magazines or journals. Include any previous publications in your cover letter.
If you are submitting prose, the sample chapter must be the first chapter of your book. The entire work must be previously unpublished. If the form of your book is experimental and lacks defined chapters, paste no more than the first 3,500 words. Note that the form itself has a cap of 5,000 words.
Your cover letter *must* include your full name, city and country of residence, contact details, the title of your work, word count, genre (poetry or prose, fiction or nonfiction), an author’s biography, and a brief synopsis.
Due to rising printing costs and the overhead of maintaining a small press, we charge a one-time reading fee of $7.50 CAD when you submit your work. We are a traditional publisher and offer standard royalties. We encourage those who submit to familiarize themselves with the work we publish.
